Yesterday and todays snow add up to 26 cm in 24 hrs. The snow is fantastic right now!

Current weather system moving through the area will continue to deliver light snow on through the night. Winds will not be a major factor overnight and tempertures will average a little below zero.

Periods of light snow are expected Monday, with the snow becoming showery in nature. Light to moderate winds are expected, with temepratures remaing  below zero.

Snowfall breaks up on Wednesday, with occasional light snowfall returning Thursday. Temepratures will warm up a few degrees Thursday, but we expect readings to remain below zero.

Vancouver Special - Ski For Free

Located just north of Pemberton, Backcountry Snowcats is the ONLY way for Lower Mainland professionals to get away for only 2 days and pack in snowmobiling, catskiing, deep powder, remote lodging, and good grub all in a weekend. Rally up 9 friends and come for free.

All you have to do is leave Vancouver Friday after work (3 pm-ish) and drive to Pemberton (½ hr past Whistler) and let us do the rest. You will eat, sleep and ski or ride like a king for Saturday and Sunday. We have the best powder runs in western BC and you will see the most amazing mountain scenery and be home in Vancouver Sunday evening. Just like that! Just wait to see the faces around the coffee machine Monday when you tell about the 20,000+ vertical of powder you shredded on your weekend.

Weekend Itinerary

Just to give you a tease of what the weekend will hold, here's an example trip to Backcountry Snowcats... not that any two trips are alike.

  • Friday 5pm onwards - meet in Pemberton, drool at the sleds you get to drive, pack the tobbogans, rip up the Hurley Pass, stumble upon a warm and welcoming cabin in the middle of nowhere, and head in for a hearty feast.
  • Saturday 7am - anticipation wakes you up before the alarm, tastey breakfast, avalanche safety breifing, a cruisey cat ride plowing through the foot of fresh snow, shred deep snow, jump in the cat, repeat. Face shot after faceshot.
  • Saturday 5pm - Back at the Lodge, apres beers, warmth, good grub, and stories that are hard to exaggerate. Hot tub coming soon.
  • Sunday 7am - Another foot of fresh snow, and 15,000 acres to explore, hmmm, where to shred today?
  • Sunday 4pm - Back a the lodge, bagged from a solid weekend of skiing and riding, hop on the snowmobiles for another exciting trip down the pass to Pemberton.
  • Sunday 5pm - Head home, basking in delight, keen to share tales of your hedonistic pursuits with your co-workers on Monday. Suckers.
