Capricorn Creek Slide

The 2nd largest land slide in BC's history last month was just 50 km away from Backcountry Snowcats' lodge, near Meager Creek, but we are ok up here. Its effect on the Pemberton Valley was minimal, with only a short-lived evacuation order being called for two areas in the valley, moving 1500 people to high ground due risk of flooding. As the event settled, the order was rescinded the next day.
This was a major geological event and there were some very impressive photos taken by Dave Steers of Pemberton Search & Rescue.
