About Backcountry Snowcats
Backcountry Snowcats is a Cat Skiing and Snowboarding operation hidden in British Columbia's South Chilcotin Mountains.
The weather here is colder and drier than nearby Whistler but gets all of the same storm cylces. It snows on average 10m (32ft) of cold dry snow per season accumulating up to 3.5m (11.5ft) base, making the terrain prime for skiing and riding.
We have over 14,000 acres (5800ha) of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 3000 ft. (900m) Our average ski day will consist of 12,000 vertical ft. (3650m) of some of the most incredable terrain you have ever skied. There are runs for every weather and ability type. The terrain encompasses many alpine bowls and gladed tree runs. Our North facing aspects keep the snow in great condition until April.
The Hurley Mountain Lodge, located only 1.5 hours north of Whistler and 3 hours north of Vancouver, is a fully serviced private Lodge for groups of up to 10 guests.
Your adventure begins with a guided snowmobile ride to access our remote location. The trail to the Lodge is groomed for a smooth ride and is easy and enjoyable for guests who have never ridden a snowmobile.
